Notes

There are a few low level wandering monsters in these caves: nephilim and goblins near the Lair of Motrax, spiders around the Spider Caves and some rather nasty undead near the Blasted Ruins.

The caves in the southwest around the Little Vale and the Tiny Slith Fort can only be reached from a river. You could wait until later in the game and approach this area from the river to the west, which flows from the Northern Waters past Fort Dranlon and onto Almaria. You will in any case need to buy a boat from Tess in Fort Draco to be able to get to Solberg's Tower. So why not early on in the game?

It gives you the quest to revenge his death by killing them (Reward: the spirit prays for you but that does not seem to affect any statistics, except that you get 15 xp).
