General Hints

The undead that are disturbing the area are being created here. There are often some rather tough bands of undead wandering around the area. The ghasts are particularly nasty because they can paralyse you.

It is difficult trying to get in via the main gates because of these bands of ghasts and zombies, so you should try finding the rear entrance.

Notes

On entering the ruins at the back you will be greeted by two cave rats and a vapour rat. The door to the south leads to a room with two nephilim. East of this in the temple are two nephil shamans and some warriors. If you get near the alter, you will be asked if you want to destroy it, or if the active character should lay in the depression on it! Do neither but wait until you have killed all enemies in the room and then use the Ritual of Sanctification which you should by now have found in Formello. You could now go back to Formello and collect your reward from Captain Graham but there is a lot of treasure here so that it is certainly worth clearing this dungeon out.

The Temple Area

In the NE of the temple is a robing room with nothing but a few robes. To the west of the door is a hidden door in the north wall leading to a trapped chest containing a Blessed Robe and 15 coins. East of the temple is a smithy with some nephilim who drop some good equipment. To the northwest of the smithy is a bedroom with two chests, one containing an Amber. In the west is a locked door leading to a small room with a bookcase and a chest. In the bookcase is a scroll which tells you a bit about this place. In the chest is an Ankah which will come in useful later in the game.

South of the smithy is a barrack with six nephar which drop some useful equipment. There is also some loot in the chests and cupboards, including an Amber and a Shielding Spike. Directly east of the barrack is a staircase which is blocked with rubble. To the south of the stairs is a locked door which needs Unlock Doors L3.

In the corridors leading south and west are lots of locked doors which you do not need to open because the whole of the southwest is accesible from the central area. So it is now probably better to explore to the west.

The West and South of the Ruins

West of the entrance room are some spiders. Behind their webs, in the NW corner of the dungeon is a secret passage with lots of webs. Clearing the webs reveals a cache with some coins an a Wand of Acid. All around the west and central area are lots of undead.

In the southwest are lots of statues all looking at a door to the west – a clear hint that there are basilisks around, which you can confirm if you open this locked door. If you manage to kill the basilisk you will find nothing except some more statues!

To the north of this room is a square space which you cannot get into. Some cracks are however visible on th east wall. Move Mountaints breaks down this wall to reveal a demon, which is very difficult for a low level party. If you do not manage to beat him you will have to come back later to pick up the iron key in the chest which it is guarding.

In the southeast are rows of bodies awaiting processing. One of them has an Amber.
