The Northern Waters can only be reached with a boat which can be stolen from the giants. There are many places which should be visited in this area.
Groups of Demons block the way to the Royal Spire.
Khoth can help you get past this obstacle on the way to Hawthorne.
A drake with black fangs (for Zavlek).
Khoth will teach you an important ritual (and also improve Magery at a charge) when you have recovered his stolen scroll.
There are groups of Empire soldiers on some of the islands.
On the northern bank of the river is a ledge with a passage leading north where you will be attacked by a collection of drakes and basilisks. There is also a secret passage parallel to this one which is not so badly infested with monsters. Both tunnels lead to a cavern full of stalagmites. Negotiating your way south through this tunnel you will be attacked by three groups Cryodrakes or Drakes and Mutant Lizards. Right in the south is a statue from which you find some nice crystals (2 Wisdom Crystals 2 Rubies, a Purging and a Battle crystal). Taking them causes 3 cyrodrakes, 3 drakes and 12 crocolisks to appear.
Aimee is a friendly witch who will tell you part of the password to the surface (G on the Worldmap).
Aydin and his wife have hidden themselves well and are difficult to reach.
This Hidden Passage leads through an apparently impassable barrier to the Hidden Island Tower (K on the Worldmap).
A hidden pool which can enlighten you so that you can find the solution to a problem (L on the Worldmap).
A chasm that has to be flown over on the way to Hawthorne (M on the Worldmap).
Another hidden path, this time on the way to eliminating Emperor Hawthorne (O on the Worldmap).
Drinking from this pool gives each member of the party a Ward of Steel L1.

On this bank are some Gnawing Soneworms and Draining Slimes. They are blocking the way to a campsite where you can find an Obsidian Chain (value 1500, Armour 5%, +1 to Pole Weapons).
Here are four Mutant Lizards. If you do not feed them they will attack you. They do not drop anything and were guarding nothing.
