Gives you a quest to find out who is leading the bandits who operate north of Fort Saffron. If you question him further he will tell you that Lagran passed through recently. He is however rather mean. Even if you do manage to find out who is behind the bandits the only reward you get from him is about 40xp and 1 reputation. |

Witch | Teaches mage spells 1 – 17 (except Dispel Barriers). She will give you a quest to locate the Valorim Bestiary and will make Speed, Power and Protection Potions or a Wisdom Crystal for you if you have the necessary ingerdients thereby taking a charge of Mandrake in payment. She will also sell you information: for 100 coins she tells you that there is a patch of Energetic Herbs in a hidden cavern far to the east just north of a cave full of lave and steam; and for 200 that there is a patch of Mandrake south of the Giant's Fortress. |

It is always a good idea to talk to everybody. The following notes give hints on hidden rooms, traps and puzzles.
The entrance to the cellar is just north of the East Gate. There is nothing down there but a Pylon and some Crystals together with some magical notes in a cupboard.
If you enter from the north you can, after fighting a four Vapour Rats, reach a jetty on which a boat is moored. You can use it to take you to the prison cells so that you can talk to Edlin.
If you row the boat to the NW, you can land on a small area with a trap (TU 10) guarding a few bags of meal together with two chests containig a few coins and other items. Behind the locked door are three demons which are guarding some (bandit's) loot: one chest containing 4 Gold Bars and various Crystals, the other with 48 coins, 2 Gold Bars and a Crystalline Wand.
The witch sends you of to look in the library of the Tower of Magi for the Bestiary. When you return to tell her it is not there, she gives you 25 coins and about 55 xp and tells you to look in Patrick's library. This time she gives you 50 coins and around 75 xp and sends you off to Erika, who actually has it. When you return from Erika you get about 40 xp, 1 rep. and she lets you read a tome which teaches Splinter (Summon Shade) L3.

Lost Shipment | A caravan containing precious iron bars was waylaid by brigands while heading south from the Spire Fortress. The merchants and guards were allowed to flee, but the waggons were lost. Any traveller who can find out where the waggons were taken can receive a reward by reporting the location to Clive of Dharmon. | Clive |
They are a bit difficult to identify and are rather tough for a low level party. They once followed me down to Patrick's Tower and waited outside for me. I just managed to escape them by going east, only to bump into the merchants who were in trouble. After helping them out, I found the bandits were on top of me and I could not get away. So I had to back up some way. You can of course just ignore them because they will not pick a fight if you do not talk to them.
When you have finally defeated them the mayor will reward you with 200 coins, a Chilling Band, around 65 xp and 1 reputation.
Here you need to go off to Ruined Bandit Cave and deal with the brigands you find there. After eliminating them you should report to Allison in Fort Spire, who will reward you with an Ice Hydra Helm (value 1000 and protection from cold), about 45xp and 1 Reputation.
This one is dead easy: it completes itself when you talk to Caldar in Bargha, who rewards you with 50 coins and around 25xp.
The waggons are at W on the map of the Erika/Bandits area. Clive rewards you with a Vampiric Knife and about 90 xp.
