There are lots of demons and other nasty monsters guarding the way to Grah-Hoth.
Here is a cache with a pair of Putrified Gauntlets worth 5000 coins and with very good properties (needs the Orb of Thralni).
Each of the tunnels to the lava fields is guarded by a Haakai, 5 Demons and Skeletal Warriors.
The evil demon's seat of residence is across this chasm in the extreme NW of Avernum.
The ghost of a young woman awaits you when you finally reach this palce (Q on the Worldmap). It tells you it was sent by Solberg, gives you a Black Iron Key and a hint: If you cannot reach Grah-Hoth's fortress go to the Waterfall Warren and find the flying orb.
A Spirit gives you the hint that the ghost, who will help you, is hiding nearby.
A corpse with an Iron Broadsword and an Invulnerability Elixir (needs Orb of Thralni).
A large group of undead must have been cut off from the rest of this area by an unexpected lava flow. You need the Orb of Thralni to reach them. The Pustulant Zombies and Skeletal Warriors drop a Dagonskin Cap (value 2000 coins, provides lots of protection). There is also a cache containing an Invulnerability Elixir nearby.
A rather mentally disturbed wizard is wandering around here. If you tell him you will kill Grah-Hoth, he will call up some golems and attack you. After killing them you get a Crystalline Wand.
This hut ( Yon the Worldmap) has been isolated by volcanic activity in the area. You have to use the Orb of Thralni to hop over a number of lava fields to reach it only to find a contingent of 7 Basilisks and and 4 Crocolisks waiting for you. On killing them you find 80 coins and a Steel Halberd in their nest. Now you can proceed to the Hut where you find a Tome which teaches Cloak of Bolts L3.
There are no regenerating patches of potion ingredients in this area.
