WS23/24: Scattering Amplitudes in Perturbative QFT
2nd half of semester, course #52661, lecture with exercises.Class meetings: WS23/24, Tu/Th/Fr 16:30-18:00, PHY 5.1.34A. Dates are tentative, please let me know if these times do not work for you. First meeting: Friday, 1.12.2023, 16:30.
Goals:
Participants will be able to calculate scattering amplitudes in perturbative quantum field theory, evaluate Feynman diagrams, solve loop integrals, and employ computer algebraic methods and specialized software for these tasks. Prerequisite: an introductory course in quantum field theory.Software

WS23/24: Computer Algebra in Physics
1st half of semester, course #52660, lecture with exercises.Class meetings: WS23/24, Tu/Th/Fr 16:30-18:00, PHY 5.1.34A.
Goals:
Participants will be able to solve a number of advanced problems in physics symbolically on the computer, identify and apply suitable concepts from polynomial ideal theory and other fields to algorithmically approach complex calculations, and be aware of specific strengths of different computer algebra systems. A focus will be on the treatment of multivariate rational functions, finite field sampling and rational reconstruction techniques.Software
- Mathematica (R), licenses through Rechenzentrum
