This is one of the the Forts on the way to the Abyss. There is much trouble with bandits around the fort.

It is always a good idea to talk to everybody. The following notes give hints on hidden rooms, traps and puzzles.
There is no inn in this town but you can rest in a room south of the barracks in the west.
The bandits have a secret lair in the west of Fort Saffron. There are two hidden doors in the south (guest room and in the west wall of the entrance) and one in the north (in the west wall of the northern entrance). It does not really matter which of the south entrances you use. You come across some guards staight away. They drop some good item and there is some nice stuff (including an Energy Potion and many coins) in the chests.
To the north is the their lair. Through the door you will be greeted by two Rouge Mages an lots of bandits (Hasting or Beast Ceremony before entering). After dispatching them you can find a lot of treasure including 750 coins in a chest. North of the lair is a passage with some Mung Rats. This is the way in from the north.
You can tell Novak that you have killed the bandits. He seems pleased but does not reward you.
If you have joined the Scimitar you can tell Mona the password and talk her into joining you. She is an Elite Warrior and a possible replacement for Jay. If she does come into the party her name changes to Theresa.
