Outside this Cave you meet a band of Avernum soldiers who are waiting to ambush a group of bandits. If you agree to help them you get into a fight with two mages and a lot of warriors. They drop some good loot.
As soon as you get into the cave you come across four soldiers who are best dealt with in combat mode and a trap which can only be disarmed in town mode!
There are naturally lots of bandits around. Up a staircase to the north are two evil priests (annoying) a wizard (very annoying) and the bandit chief (strong) together with a few bandits. They drop some useful loot.
In the SE of the dungeon are two doors (one locked) into the dining hall with a mage and a few soldiers who drop some useful items.
North of the dining hall is a lake. You can row a boat which is conveniently moored on the south bank to the other side, where six cave slimes greet you. Behind the locked door is the Tome Chamber with three tomes and two Cave Slimes. After finishing off the slimes you can look at the tomes. The left one teaches you Summon Shade L3, the middle one is unreadable and the right one tells you that Meena has been giving the bandits instructions.
In the NW is a locked room with a hidden passage to the south leading to two trapped chests. The righthand one contains coins, Balm of Life and an Emerald, the left one coins, a Wand of Carrunos and a Monkey Bracelet.
In the SW is the barracks with a few soldiers. North of the barracks is a vestibule with some chests containing a bit of loot. To the north of the chests is a door to the rubbish pit.
Now back to Bohman in Fort Spire for a good reward and to de Brey in Dharmon, who is too mean to give you anything. You just put this down to experience (points).
