Open position for a PhD student in Analysis of PDEs at the University of Regensburg
At the University of Regensburg a position for a doctoral student in Analysis of PDEs is advertised.
The position is founded by a DFG grant (36 months, salary: 75% TVL-E13 ~ 2000+ €/month after taxes)
of Patrik Knopf (see https://homepages.uni-regensburg.de/~knp32048/)
who will also primarily supervise the thesis.
The topic of the doctoral thesis will be:
Two-phase flows with bulk-surface interaction described by a Navier-Stokes-Cahn-Hilliard model
with dynamic boundary conditions.
The earliest starting date would be June 2023.
Candidates should possess a M.Sc. (or a similar degree) in Mathematics and should have a solid knowledge in Analysis of PDEs.
In particular, knowledge about the Navier-Stokes equation, fluid mechanics, phase-field models or parabolic equations in general
would be helpful but is not necessarily required.
The student will find a stimulating working atmosphere due to the
thematic proximity to the "IntComSin" graduate school (https://intcomsin.de/) based in Regensburg and Erlangen.

- A short CV including a brief statement of scientific interests.
- Copies of certificates of academic qualifications.
- A study track record.
- A copy of a degree thesis.
- One or two letters of recommendation (not necessary but would be appreciated).
The deadline for submission is April 7, 2023. However, later applications might be considered until the position is filled.
