It is a good idea to visit this town very early on. You can complete your first mission (find Anastasia), pick up a new member for your party if you want and get a new quest. When visiting a new town, I usually walk around the outside of the walls, where there is sometimes some dropped treasure, a corpse with some useful items or a monster or two to be killed. This has the advantage that you can see where the town walls are and recognise any hidden rooms without having to resort to Far Sight. The eastern wall here is unfortunately too near the edge of the graphic to be able to walk outside on this side of the town.

It is always a good idea to talk to everybody. The following notes give hints on hidden rooms, traps and puzzles.
There is an inn run by Gary. Rooms here are cheap (5 coins).
Behind the counter in the closed down shop, Gruber's Weapons, is a secret passage with a crate containing a Wand of Bolts.
In the cattle pen to the east of Carol's shop is a secret passage to the river bank, where a group of Nephilim including a shaman is lurking. They drop some useful loot. The body lying there (apparantly killed by them) has some steel arrows. Instead of giving you a reward or even thanking you when you tell Carol about the Nephilim behind her shop she gets quite paranoiac.
