There are lots of demons and other nasty monsters guarding the way to Grah-Hoth.
Ten Basilisks guarding a Blessed Pike. Across the lava in the south wall of the fumarole is a secret passage.
In this hut is a tablet which teaches Create Illusions L3.
Each of the tunnels to the lava fields is guarded by a Haakai, 5 Demons and Skeletal Warriors.
The evil demon's seat of residence is across this chasm in the extreme NW of Avernum.
A spirit awaits you when you finally reach this palce (Q on the Worldmap). It tells you it was sent by Solberg, gives you a Black Iron Key and two hints: 1. If you cannot reach Grah-Hoth's fortress go to the Waterfall Warren and find the flying orb. 2. The barriers in the fortess can be passed.
A Spirit gives you the hint that a spirit, who will help you, is hiding due west of the totems.

A rather mentally disturbed wizard is wandering around here. If you tell him you will kill Grah-Hoth, he will call up some golems and attack you.
