To negotiate this area you need a boat. This area can be divided into four quadrants:
This maze of little rivers, rapids and waterfalls is dificult to negotiate.
Thes two lakes which are connected by a series of dangerous rapids are infested by hostile Slithzerikai lead by Sss-Thsss.
In the southwest is an inhospitable place where all sorts of barbarous creatures have taken up residence – a group of bandits, a cave infested by gemlins, a large group of undead as well as poisonous fungi and slimes.
There is an Eyebeast accompanied by four Banshees on this isthmus.
Some bandits are camping here. If you fight them they drop nothing, but in their camp you will find 250 coins, 2 Rubies, a Scroll – Speed Burst and a Mica Band.
If you search this cave you find a Bow of Sorms (value 1200 coins). If you take it you are confronted by the owners: an Eyebeast and four Ogres and an Ogre Taskmaster. Like most monsters in this game they drop very little.
Here resides Grah-Hoth's vassal and leader of the dark Sliths, Sss-Thsss.
If you search this crypt you can get a Crystal-Woven Chitin. This time a Slith Avatar and six Searing Crawlers appear.
In the Crypt of Drath you can recover part of the Demonslayer and also learn "Ward of Thoughts" L3.
You find an Armour Ring on a statue near a ruined tower. If your cave lore is less than 7 six Basilisks and six Mutant Lizards appear when you take it.
There is a group of Submission Fungi and Draining Slimes waiting in this secret passage for anyone who passes. After you have disposed of them you can dig up the adjacent cache which holds a Crystalline Wand.
This is a rather nasty place, but there is some good loot and a level 3 Spell to be learnt.
Here is the Empire Orb which Cleese Bargha wants you to destroy for the Scimitar.

If your Cave Lore is high enough you can find some "valuable alchemical herbs" in this cave. What you get probably depends on luck and/or cave lore.
Here are the remains of a boat where you can find 80 coins and a Scroll – Acid Shower.
Six Vengeful Shades are lurking around in front of a cache containing a Consecrated Breastplate (value 1500).
Except for the four crystal monoliths, which you can admire, there is nothing here.
A narrow path runs up the cave wall along the edge of thes rapids. This path is a portage, enabling you to move your boat up and down the rapids. It is the only thing that makes this passage navigable.
This hut is visible from the river but you cannot land there. It must be approached from the northern bank of the arm to the east. You find a wisdom Crystal.
If you kill the chief of this fort you can not only pick up some useful loot but also get a reward from Sss-Schai in Gnass.
Some Sliths who will sell some potion ingredients (but no Greymould) as well a few crystals, including a Wisdom Crystal, at very reasonable prices..
Here is one of the Onyx Keys you need to get to Sss-Thss and, if you look hard enough, some loot.
There are lots of basilisks in these Stagnant Tunnels, but you can find the Orb of Thralni here.
There are a few slith villages scattered around these wateres. When you approach them you will be asked whether you want to attack. If you do, the whole village turns out to fight you. Like all hosile creatures in this game, they do not drop very much.
The gigantic slith warrior lying on a bier in this crypt has a nice looking ring on its finger. If you take it, you find that it is a Warmth Ring, but a Slith Avatar and six Frozen Worms appear.
There are no patches of potion ingedients in this area.
