This is a large farm like many in Avernum. You can buy food (at an exorbitant price) and learn bartering (if you want to). Tor the farmer gives you a quest and Carol his wife is a healer.

He used to be a soldier and is now the leader of the farmers in this area. If you have a Nephil in your party he will tell you he does not like them. He will nevertheless sell you food at an exorbitant price and give you the mission to clear some salamanders out of his cellar (Reward: Shielding Charm, 10 xp and 1 reputation). After completing the quest he will teach Barter for 150 coins (if you think it worthwhile to train in).

Does not have much to say but stays in the library so you cannot steal anything from the cupboards. You can however open the door and wait until he wanders out (perhaps while you are dealing with the salamanders), then you can close the door and steal 2x6 coins – hardly worth it.

She is Nicholas' fiancé and talks a bit about her work.
Notes
It is always a good idea to talk to everybody. The following notes give hints on hidden rooms, traps and puzzles.
Salamanders
The slamanders are in a cave in the northeast of the homestead. There is some food in the crates and barrels.
Tor
Tor's aversion to Nephilim does not affect his prices, the reward he gives you or his teaching barter. If you do not have one in your party he will be even more offensive about nephilim.
